Recruiting and Promoting to Supervisor
OK, when you think of earning a career level income,
what do you usually think is required to get that? Investment of time?
Investment of energy to learn new skills or expand your current area of
expertise?
To reach career level income with UBAH, you'll do that
too, but on your own terms, when you choose. And the nice thing about UBAH
is that you can see huge % increases in your income from year to year,
without having to work double or triple the hours.
One way to begin this process is to sponsor new
Consultants into the business and share the opportunity with them. As you
know, you'll be receiving 4% of those recruit's net sales every month you
have personal net of $350 or more. Remember recruiting is sharing! By
helping others you'll be helping yourself too.
Getting to Supervisor
Use the Three Month Push plan. (see Nancy Ann's pages
for this:
http://usborneusa.com/training/3month.htm)
Do this *before* the big fall selling season so you
can start making those nice override checks on those big fall sales your
central group will be making. I also encourage you to make recruiting a big
part of your focus as you begin to work toward promotion and continue to
recruit because the larger your group when you promote, the easier to
maintain the supervisor requirements *and* the quicker your income will
grow.
Cathy’s favorite recruiting line is:
"Have you ever considered doing something like this?" That's the most
comfortable; easy going way for me to start talking to someone at a home
show, booth, or anywhere else I'm sharing Usborne Books. And then just
having a genuine conversation with them about what we have to offer, what
they might be looking for or need etc. I've found the thing I focus on most
in these conversations is really listening to what they need and want and
helping them see how UBAH may help them get what they need and want.
How do you deal with objections like "you don't
know what it's like to have kids" type of thing and many don't believe that
this will work well with them and their family."
You can say, I can imagine how busy life is with a
family. My Supervisor (that's me :) has three young children under 8; she
has been with UBAH for over 7 years and has always worked the business around her
family's schedule. Or "Would something flexible with no monthly quotas work
for you?"
Sometimes asking the question back to them helps
clarify their hesitation too. Like saying "So you feel like you'd not have time for
your family by doing something like this?" Then they sometimes answer with
more details on the specifics of how much time they are thinking of etc.
which will give you the opportunity to explain how you can work as much or
as little as you like.
Another idea is to let them know that many of our
Consultants enjoy the identity their business gives them outside being a mom
- a professional outlet that allows them to get a break outside the home one
or two days a week with other moms who enjoy children and care about helping
their kids learn and read, helping spread literacy and earning some extra
income too. A personal identity that has nothing to do with diapers and
laundry or dishes and housework.
Now about that raise when you recruit...
Let's say you have a $1500 net month in personal sales
(That’s $2000 retail sales so you’ve already made $500 in personal
commission )
Add to that 5% in personal sales bonus = $75
So on your own you’ve made $575.
Let's say you have 4 recruits who each sell $500 net -
so you get 4% on $2000 that's $80 more for a total of $655.
Now let's say you were a Supervisor with the same
sales. Your personal sales bonus stays at $100. Your recruiting bonus goes
to $40, BUT you earn 11% on your personal and those recruits’ sales – that’s
11% of $4000 net in central group sales or an additional $440!
So let's add up that month for a grand total of $1055
Personal commission $500
Personal sales bonus $75
Supervisor override on group net sales $440
Recruiting bonus (2% for a supervisor) $40
Let's say you're a Supervisor with a nice monthly
income, but you've decided you'd like to remodel your kitchen, or take a 2nd
honeymoon or get new furniture etc. Sponsor a couple new Consultants, help
them get their business going and you'll be earning more. The push to be at the
next level of income is temporary, but the income continues to build. A neat
thing about the process is that as your income is growing, you are helping
others earn and build their businesses too. Helping others helps you too :)
Here's a way to help you recruit too...think of 5
things you like about being an UBAH Consultant and write them down. Now
think who else you come in contact with who might also be looking for those
same things you enjoy about UBAH. Now *invite* others to join you! You
never know who might be looking for what UBAH has, unless you ask them to
join you. And one trait of someone working toward career level income is
that they don't get discouraged, at least not for long :). When someone says
no to you, remember they're not rejecting *you.* Each no, gets you closer to
your next yes!
Remember, you are helping others when you recruit.
Be proud and share the wonderful opportunity you have found in UBAH. |
