Hostess Program The Usborne Books Hostess Program is incredibly generous! And I love the flexibility we have to use some of the hostess benefits as incentives to help our hotesses have even more successful shows. However, with all these great benefits, it can be confusing at first. Let’s take a look at all the great aspects of the Usborne Books Hostess Program. Free Books (aka Merchandise Allowance): These are books earned based on retail sales. The hostess pays 8% shipping on the retail value of the free books. She pays a $2 hostess fee that covers all taxes that may be owed on free merchandise. Below is the free books chart that’s also featured in each catalog. Add $10 merchandise allowance for every $50 in sales over $600. During your first 12 weeks in business, you can double these amounts for all hostesses who have at least $250 in sales and one dated booking within 4 weeks of their show.   Retails Sales Free Books $85.00 - $124.99 $15.00 $125.00 - $149.99 $20.00 $150.00 - $174.99 $25.00 $175.00 - $199.99 $30.00 $200.00 - $249.99 $35.00 $250.00 - $299.99 $45.00 $300.00 - $349.99 $55.00   Half Price Books: For every $100 in retail sales, your hostess also earns $25 of Usborne Books product for 1/2 price. For example, Sue hosts a $425 show, she earns $100 retail in Usborne Books at 1/2 price. She’ll again pay 8% shipping on the retail value of these books and pay tax on the half price cost + shipping. Booking Special: $20 for $5: For each booking your hostess gets from her show, she will receive $20 of Usborne Books product for $5. The 8% shipping on retail and tax on the $5 + shipping still apply. This $20 for $5 order is sent in on the booking hostesses show (not on the original hostesses show). Bonus Gift: For each third booking your hostess gets from her show, she may select one single item from the full catalog for free. The Consultant pays 35% of the retail cost of this item – it’s a thank you to her for helping your business grow! These are also sent in with the show order that was booked from the original hostess. Hostess Books: This is $25 of Usborne Book product that may be purchased for 65% off – either by the Consultant (for personal samples, or as Hostess incentives) or offered to the Hostess (for reaching certain sales/booking goals). NOTE: If your hostess does not take advantage of all these hostess benefits you the Consultant may use them to build your sample kit! Back to Consultant Training
